Job Description (General Summary)

The Senior Oracle EBS / Cloud DBA Architect is a highly technical individual contributor with deep hands-on experience in Oracle EBS R12.2.x environments, responsible for architecture leadership, solution design, project delivery, and operational transition across Oracle EBS, OCI, and related enterprise platforms.


This role bridges architecture, project delivery, and operations, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and fully operationalized through playbooks and structured handoffs. Strong hands-on experience with OCI, GoldenGate, ADW/ATP, and OIC is required, with preference for familiarity with emerging Oracle database innovations such as Oracle 26ai.

The role provides technical leadership across initiatives, influencing design decisions and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and operational best practices.

Strong hands-on Oracle EBS R12.2.x DBA experience is mandatory, particularly in supporting mission-critical ERP systems within manufacturing or supply chain environments. Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Solution Architecture, Design & Project Delivery

· Lead architecture and design discussions across Oracle initiatives, with focus on Oracle EBS R12.2.x and ERP workflows

· Define and maintain reference architectures, design patterns, and standards across OCI, database, data, and integration platforms

· Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and operability requirements before production deployment

· Review and approve solution designs aligned with enterprise architecture and operational standards

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive smooth transition from design → build → run

· Ensure solutions align with manufacturing and supply chain processes, supporting high-volume transactional workloads

Architecture Governance & Standards

· Define and maintain DBA architecture standards, best practices, and design guidelines

· Establish operational design principles to ensure production supportability

· Identify and mitigate architectural and operational risks early in the lifecycle

· Ensure design-to-run alignment with fully operationalized solutions before handoff

· Partner with Environment Manager and architecture teams to ensure consistent standards execution

Operational Transition & Knowledge Transfer

· Develop playbooks, runbooks, and SOPs for implemented solutions

· Create standardized procedures for consistent execution by support teams

· Ensure monitoring, alerting, and support readiness before production handoff

· Lead knowledge transfer to India-based DBA Operations team

· Ensure solutions are production-ready and transitioned with no project dependency

· Validate SLA alignment and operational ownership before project closure

Hybrid Operations Support

· Provide hands-on DBA support for critical systems during US hours while maintaining architectural oversight

· Support India night hours for critical escalations and production issues

· Perform troubleshooting, patching, cloning, migrations, and performance tuning across environments

· Participate in on-call rotation and critical incident support as needed

· Stay engaged in operations to ensure real-world challenges inform architecture decisions

Oracle Platform Administration

· Provide hands-on DBA support for Oracle EBS R12.2.x, including patching, cloning, performance tuning, and production issue resolution

· Perform Oracle Database (19c+) administration across all environments

· Define and review configurations to ensure alignment with architecture standards and scalability

· Support OCI infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, database services)

· Administer GoldenGate, ADW/ATP, and OIC within the Oracle ecosystem

· Support SaaS operations, including security and access management

· Support Oracle WebCenter and OCI-hosted BI/reporting platforms

Performance, Monitoring & Reliability

· Define performance baselines and standards for new implementations

· Perform advanced database and SQL tuning, including AWR/ASH analysis

· Design and improve monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards

· Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and recurring issues

· Drive RCA and implement corrective actions to improve system reliability

Automation & Continuous Improvement

· Define and drive automation strategy to reduce manual effort and improve consistency

· Develop automation for monitoring, alerting, cloning, refresh, and health checks

· Identify opportunities to standardize and optimize DBA operations at scale

· Continuously improve runbooks, processes, and platform efficiency

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Partner with Environment Manager, Architects, DBA teams, and key stakeholders

· Collaborate with Integration, QA, Security, Infrastructure, and Release teams for aligned execution

· Participate in architecture reviews, design sessions, incident calls, and release planning

· Provide technical leadership to drive consistent adoption of standards and best practices

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

· 15+ years of Oracle Database experience with strong hands-on Oracle EBS R12.2.x DBA expertise (mandatory)

· Experience in solution architecture, design reviews, and large-scale implementations

· Experience supporting mission-critical ERP systems, preferably in manufacturing or supply chain

· Experience working in global delivery models (onshore/offshore)

· Experience supporting high-availability, high-volume systems

Technical Skills

· Core Platform Expertise (Required)

o Oracle EBS R12.2.x (hands-on DBA administration including patching, cloning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and production support)

o Oracle Database (19c+ preferred) – architecture, administration, and performance tuning

o High availability technologies: RAC, ASM, Data Guard

o Backup and recovery (RMAN)

o Linux/Unix administration

· Architecture & Design (Required)

o Experience designing and reviewing end-to-end Oracle platform architecture

o Strong understanding of production readiness, scalability, and operability principles

o Ability to translate business and operational requirements into technical solutions

· Cloud, Data & Integration Platforms (Required)

o Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) – compute, storage, networking, DB systems

o Oracle GoldenGate – replication setup, monitoring, and support

o Autonomous Database (ADW/ATP) – provisioning and performance

o Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) – integration lifecycle support

· Preferred Skills

o SaaS applications (administration, security, access control)

o Oracle WebCenter

o BI / reporting platforms hosted in OCI

· Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to DBA teams across US and India

· Mentor team members in DBA best practices, architecture, and operations

· Align technology decisions with business priorities and long-term strategy
