Responsibilities:
Define success from the start by understanding each pilot system’s purpose—identifying what we aim to prove, optimize, or unlock—and ensuring testing efforts directly support meaningful product outcomes.
Design and lead dynamic test strategies that guide products from early concept through commercial release, using your engineering expertise to validate performance, mitigate risk, and accelerate innovation.
Build and execute robust test plans, translating complex technical results into clear, actionable insights that resonate across engineering, product, and commercial teams.
Turn data into design improvements by interpreting test results, equipment behavior, and real-time observations—driving immediate system optimizations and shaping next-generation conveyance solutions.
Own and solve complex technical challenges, bringing structure, curiosity, and rigor to ambiguous problems while delivering clear conclusions and forward-looking recommendations.
Grow into a subject matter expert, deepening your knowledge of conveyance technologies to influence product direction, inspire innovation, and elevate overall system performance.
Advance modular plastic belting solutions through hands-on, application-driven testing that demonstrates value, uncovers new use cases, and strengthens product differentiation.
Collaborate on innovative design solutions, providing 2D/3D modeling support for custom test equipment, prototypes, and system enhancements that push product capabilities forward.
Enhance testing capabilities by developing jigs, fixtures, software tools, and streamlined processes that improve efficiency, repeatability, and scalability.
Partner with cross-functional teams to refine test plans, share insights, and continuously improve testing methodologies and outcomes.
Build a knowledge foundation by organizing and maintaining a comprehensive database of test results, enabling data-driven decisions and long-term product evolution.
Integrate emerging AI capabilities into the testing environment to automate workflows, unlock deeper insights, and improve overall engineering productivity.
Requirements:
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
• 3+ years of experience in Engineering role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand equipment function, diagnose performance limitations, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Understanding of mechanical systems and willingness to work with hand tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to approach issues from both mechanical and controls perspectives.
• Comfort working in an ambiguous development environment where test objectives, equipment concepts, and performance targets may evolve over time.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with mechanical, controls, and development teams to influence equipment design and performance outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude with attention to detail.
• Goal-oriented team player.
• Excellent computer skills with some exposure to 3D CAD; Inventor preferred.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Travel is required up to 20–80% of the time, including weekend work when needed.
• Most travel will be proactive in nature and planned weeks in advance however, this role may be required to travel on very short notice in the event of a real time urgent issue at a customer site.
• When not on site supporting a new system, this position will work out of our Hanover, MD facility, in person 5 days a week.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the conveyor, industrial automation, or product handling industry
• Experience using AI-assisted tools to reduce manual, repetitive work, particularly in test video review, data extraction, or data analysis
• Experience in a test engineering role
• Experience with Python
• Experience with BECKHOFF Controls Platform and TwinCAT programming
• Experience with MATLAB programming

The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans
Salary Range $74,300 to $174,300.
