Intralox L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has an exciting position available for a Value Engineer in the New Products Development Group based in Harahan, LA. This individual will be primarily responsible for contributing to the acceleration of new product development by reducing the duration and risks of applying unfamiliar solutions to equipment design opportunities. This team-based role will expand solution sets by developing, proving, and creating facile access to  reliable manufacturing processes, materials, and supply-chain partners. In turn, this  effort supports Intralox’s  focus on speed to market for rapid world-wide deployment of new technology products.

  • Value Engineering: balance cost, quality, capacity/scalability, global availability, and timing
    • Collaborate with Intralox Engineers to understand design criteria, design, and functionality to identify improvement opportunities
    • Identify creative solutions and alternatives for improvements: (functional, economic, quality, IP, capacity, global scalability, timeliness, etc.)
    • Research, analyze, and compare alternative designs, materials, manufacturing processes, etc.
    • Incorporate holistic view of value, including full system costs and timing, impacts on commercial, operational, and other efforts, and expected growth
  • Supplier Identification and Qualification: 
    • Research, identify, vet, qualify, and select supplier candidates having appropriate technology, capacity/scalability, global availability, quality assurance programs, and organizational/cultural alignment
  • Procurement Coordination: Manage procurement processes from RFQ  through fulfillment: 
    • Assemble, manage RFQ packages and iterations for design changes, forecast demand, costing, etc.
    • Manage all phases of part development and fulfillment (FAI, Capability Study, initial part release, Inventory build)
  • Project Management: 
    • Actively manage project schedules from start to finish (budgeting, planning, tracking, and reporting), providing actionable information to team's use to focus, plan, prevent delays, and react
    • Manage product cost projections throughout development in support of project justification and pricing decisions
    • Analyze forecast demand vs. capacity studies (entire supply chain), pre-empting production bottlenecks and recommending production growth plan
  • Leveraging  Learnings
    • Research manufacturing trends and cost factors
    • Document and archive learnings for future dissemination
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Technology
  • ≥5-8 years combined experience in value engineering and technical project management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently
  • Willingness to travel 15-25%. Mostly domestic, some international
  • Minimal CAD experience
  • PMP (Project management professional) Certification would be nice to have
