Intralox, L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for a Technical Writer to join the team and support our product engineering and development. This writer will be responsible for capturing content and working with engineers and other writers to transform that information into both internal knowledge to support the business and customer-facing content to support customers. This will be a primarily remote position with travel to our Baltimore, MD or New Orleans, LA sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers to develop content needed to support the design and release of new products and updates to existing products.
  • Integrate into the production engineering team to capture design intent, specifications, and other technical content in real-time.
  • Research technologies, interview subject matter experts (SMEs), and learn about products to effectively communicate that information to internal teams and customers through the appropriate content.
  • Create product release docs, equipment specs, functional design docs, and other content as needed.
  • Work with other technical writers to transform product development content into customer-facing documentation.
  • Create and edit photos, illustrations, and other graphics as needed for technical content.
  • Contribute to the development of solutions that improve the creation and delivery of content to internal teams and customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, or related field
  • At least two years’ technical writing experience 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with DITA XML and component content management systems (CCMS)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A self-managed individual who is a team player
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experience working with SMEs
  • Skilled in managing projects, priorities, and initiatives

Desired Qualifications

  • Background in engineering, drafting, or related field is a plus
  • Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar applications preferred
