Laitram Machinery, Inc. has a position available for a Sheet Metal Fabricator working on our 2nd shift.  This individual will be responsible for helping in all areas related to sheet metal fabricating.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and process sheet metal parts per drawing
  • Keep machine/ tooling well organized and clean. (routine maintenance)
  • Assist in all areas of fabricating on shop floor (Deburr, weld cleaning, material handling, etc.)
  • QC at the source / check your work before moving on to next routing
  • Use off-line programming software to aid in bending complex parts
  • Use computer software to perform transactions and capture labor to each job

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in operation of press brake
  • Able to interpret sheet metal drawings/understand bend sequencing
  • Above average math skills
  • Be able to identify and use basic hand tools
  • Willing to cross train in other work centers as needed
  • Capability of learning manufacturing software being used on shop floor
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Able to work overtime/ some travel may be required
  • Self–managed, team player
  • Have a good attitude and a passion for doing a job well
  • Must be detailed oriented and be able to follow instructions
  • Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift and move 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience on operating / programming CNC controlled press brake
  • Prior knowledge/experience operating a Bystronic Press Brake
  • FMA or other Press Brake Operation certifications
  • Experience in some trade – mechanic, fabrication work, carpentry, machine tools, etc.
  • Prior experience in a Fabrication environment
