Lapeyre Stair, L.L.C. Quality Department has an opening for a Quality Assurance Lead at our Harahan location.

Lapeyre Stair constructs precision built metal stair systems using a state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing system. The Lapeyre Stair product line includes Alternating Tread stairs, Steel Egress stairs (welded and bolted) as well as crossover systems, exit and intermediate platforms, and safety gates.   • Oversees all quality responsibilities for the Toler street location.
  • Provides leadership and oversight for Quality Assurance Technicians at Modern Farms location and any future Quality Assurance Technicians for Toler St. location.
  • Oversees all customer complaint and internal error processes across departments to understand root causes and corrective actions for customer or internal issues.
  • Interacts with all employees to develop and maintain policies, procedures, workflows and training guides.
  • Ensures quality assurance sampling plans are followed.
  • Able to recognize manufacturing quality defects.
  • With Quality Technicians, ensures that documents and maintains all quality databases, drawings and parts libraries.         
  • Effectively communicates all relevant quality information through email, graphics, and personal interfaces.
  • Supports quality projects as dictated by the manufacturing business plan.


  • 3+ years of quality assurance experience
  • Prior welding experience
  • Ability to read and interpret construction prints and material specifications
  • Management skills
  • Technical writing
  • Passion for learning and growth with a demonstrated record of self-management.
  • Strong attention to detail with a quality-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in standard software packages (Visio, MS Office, Excel, etc.)
  • Works well as a team player; cooperates with others.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Able to make and communicate consistent and logical decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing quality environment
  • Fabrication and powder coating experience preferred
