The Production Scheduler provides leadership and expertise as it relates to the Scheduling/Planning of the manufacturing facility. While reporting to the Operations Manager, you will manage the Production Planning/Scheduling, and coordinate in inventory planning functions.

Responsibilities

Scheduling

  • Develops and maintains production schedules to meet all finished goods requirements while minimizing change over downtime.
  • Reviews manufacturing material requirements and assembly schedules regularly to ensure production goals can be achieved.
  • Collaborates with assembly, supply chain and materials management teams to ensure adequate resources are available to achieve production goals.
  • Works with other teams members to address resource constraints.
  • Monitors production progress towards completion dates. Initiates corrective action, when necessary to achieve production goals.
  • Supports overarching strategy to move towards Oracle MRP centric scheduling model.
  • Monitors and controls ERP scheduling data integrity related to production.

Communications

  • Work with other departments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide immediate, accurate and timely information to upper management using various methods of verbal and electronic communication.
  • Communicates schedule specific risks to Operations and Program Managers.
  • Provides program proposal support to ensure schedule alignment/awareness.
  • Ensures program customers are receiving the right level of scheduling support/visibility.

Reports

  • Creates draft production and inventory plans with guidance based on material requirements analysis in support of projects
  • Creates and maintains ad hoc reports to assist with business decisions 
  • Conducts capacity meetings; maintains lead capacity communication for work teams and/or supervisors to adjust working hours to meet customer dates
  • Continuously seeks ways to improve capacity planning, scheduling, order data entry, and office/shop floor communications
  • Ensure the effective scheduling of assigned production lines

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following: Engineering, Business, Production Management, Accounting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of ERP experience.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous Production Planning and Scheduling experience.
  • Innovative

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficient with Oracle E-Business Suite especially in OM, WIP, BOM, Material Planner, and Inventory modules 
  • Advanced MS Project and MS Excel experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products
