Lapeyre Stair is seeking a Procurement/Inventory Specialist. This role is responsible for, purchasing of materials and services as well as managing and controlling material inventory. This position reports directly to the Controller. 

Lapeyre Stair constructs precision built metal stair systems using a state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing system. The Lapeyre Stair product line includes Alternating Tread stairs, Steel Egress stairs (welded and bolted) as well as crossover systems, exit and intermediate platforms, and safety gates. Responsibilities:

  • Procurement and Supplier Management
  • Inventory Control Management
    • Identify and develop suppliers of raw materials as needed.
    • Develop strategy for outsourced manufacturing
      • Manage purchasing activities related to outsourcing
      • Manage outsource supplier performance
    • Identify and develop suppliers of services as needed. 
    • Responsible for supplier performance.
  • Inventory Control Management
    • Develop, implement, and maintain operational metrics related to inventory and purchasing. 
      • Obsolete inventory
      • Cycle count results
      • Define and maintain adequate safety stocks and minimum order quantities

Requirements:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement.
- B.S. degree in Business Administration, Management, or Engineering
- ERP and MRP experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of software products
- Must possess the following key competencies:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Planning and organizing capabilities
  • Ability to work in and/or lead a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle or Epicor a plus
  • Inventory management experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
