Laitram is seeking a Payroll Analyst who will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the HR Operations Department.  This includes accurate time keeping and timely payment to our employees, following best practice as defined by Laitram policies and regulatory requirements. This role will support multiple internal customers including Finance, Taxing, General Ledger recordings, and external auditing. 

This role will also focus on continuous process improvement, identifying opportunities for process simplification, optimization, and automation

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
  • Perform journal entry payroll and solve any tax issues tied to State and SUI adjustments
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of time and payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Support 401k plan deductions with partnership from third party provider.
  • Support expatriate population- pay, tax filing, cost of living adjustments, living expenses, and relocation
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • Three to five years of related experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Payroll Functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Time Keeping functions including, manager and employee training, pay rule & accrual management, reporting, and resolving stakeholder queries.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong critical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; with an emphasis on Excel
  • Proficient with time keeping and payroll software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills providing outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
