IT Systems Engineer (Business Applications - Machinery)
Laitram LLC is seeking a highly skilled Business Applications Engineer to join our dynamic Information Technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the portfolio of applications associated with our Laitram Machinery division, both on-premises and in the cloud. This role involves planning, implementing, and supporting the lifecycle of applications to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of enterprise-level application lifecycles, particularly middleware.

Responsibilities:
Application Design and Deployment
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to design, configure, and deploy enterprise applications that align with business goals.
- Ensure seamless integration between core systems such as InforXA (ERP), Dynamics 365 (CRM), Solidworks/EPDM (PDM), and other supporting technologies.
Lifecycle Management
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of Laitram Machinery applications, including implementation, updates, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for keystone applications to ensure compatibility with evolving business needs and technologies.
Compliance and Security
- Implement and maintain compliance standards and data security measures across Laitram Machinery applications.
- Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure applications are protected against vulnerabilities.
Documentation and Knowledge Management
- Develop and maintain documentation for application configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure knowledge base articles are generated and maintained to assist with end-user self-service and reduce support overhead.
Vendor Management
- Liaise with software vendors to evaluate, procure, and implement solutions.
- Manage relationships with vendors to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met and issues are promptly resolved, as well as maintaining adequate and compliant licensing.
Continuous Improvement
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve business processes and align technology solutions with business strategies.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies to recommend innovations that benefit the organization.
Collaboration and Communication
- Act as a bridge between IT and business units to understand and address technology needs. Brings both passion and pragmatism to their discussions.
- Facilitate regular communication to keep stakeholders informed about application status, updates, and projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise applications
- Proven expertise with core business systems such as ERP (InforXA preferred), CRM (Dynamics 365 preferred), and PDM (Solidworks/EPDM preferred)
- Understanding of cloud-based technologies and platforms, such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Self-managed; ability to work well independently and in a global team environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned work according to business need and priorities
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis
