Laitram L.L.C. Information Technology Department has an opening for an IT System Engineer (Unified Communications) reporting to the IT Design & Delivery Manager.  This individual will be well-versed in telephony, mobile phones, and meeting room solution technologies, in particular Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unified Contact Center Enterprise (UCCE), Microsoft Teams Meeting/Calling, and Microsoft Intune.

The successful candidate will have the understanding and enthusiasm to lead in the continued transformation of Unified Communications (UC) at Laitram.  We see this space defined by our increasing number of worldwide facilities, our growing omnichannel customer communication efforts, our work-from-home Microsoft Teams Meetings explosion, and our outfitting of meeting rooms with new technology capable of handling a future hybrid work model (on-site/remote).

  • Design and deliver UC solutions for our global facilities and employees that solve business problems and adhere to our Security, Infrastructure, and Digital Workplace technology standards
  • Co-develop, maintain, and socialize infrastructure, security, and business continuity standards for the UC domain
  • Help manage our global carriers and communication partners (e.g., AT&T, KPN, BT, etc.)
  • Support UC access management with the IT Identity & Access Management (IAM) Team
  • Participate in projects with the IT Infrastructure Team, Digital Workplace Team, and Commercial Services Team that impact the UC domain
  • Maintain effective communication with business-users and team members around design decisions, project statuses, and timelines
  • Author technical installation, configuration, and support documentation

  • B. S. in Computer Science, MIS, or related field; or 5+ years of related work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an UC and/or Telephony environment
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and Unified Contact Center Enterprise (UCCE); or experience with UCCX or PCCE
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools like Intune, Airwatch, or similar
  • Experience with Meeting Room hardware solutions like Microsoft Teams Rooms, or similar
  • Ability to work well with global carriers and vendors to support our 20+ offices in 9 countries
  • Inquisitive and forward looking
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned work according to business need and priorities
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Self-managed; ability to work well independently and in a global team environment
  • Business acumen, and the ability to communicate to business domain stakeholders and technical staff alike
