IT Network Administrator
Laitram L.L.C. Information Technology Services Department has an opening for an IT Network Administrator.
The primary responsibilities for this position are to maintain, administer, and support the computer networks across the Laitram companies. This includes configuration, installation, documentation, troubleshooting and decommissioning of network equipment Globally.
This position will report to the IT Infrastructure Supervisor under the IT Operations structure.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and resolve network issues proactively.
- Configure and physically install network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
- Procure network equipment and manage ISP subcontractors.
- Monitor performance and ensure system reliability and capacity.
- Follow configuration and change management policies.
- Assist with system rollouts, ensuring integration, usability, and security.
- Recommend hardware, software, and process improvements to enhance services and reduce incidents.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for system usage and configuration.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors for innovative business solutions.
- Expand technical skills through formal and informal training.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours critical system support.
- Maintain effective communication with business users and team members.
- Travel globally as needed.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Computer Science, MIS, a related major, or alternatively CCNA Certified
- At least 3 years of experience in Network and Systems Administration
- Proficient in Fortinet and Cisco IOS for configuring, troubleshooting, and managing devices
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networks (Layers 1-3), including IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, subnetting, VLANs, security and related tools
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for various technical levels
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, use ladders, bend, stoop, and handle hand tools.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% of the time, including weekends and holidays.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate travel on short notice.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently or in a team
- Available for on-call, evening, and weekend work as needed
