We are seeking a remote IT Architect who will develop effective architectures for enabling and managing SharePoint Online and its related Microsoft 365 applications like OneDrive, Teams, Stream, Viva, etc. The successful candidate will lead in the creation of a technology vision for our content & collaboration tools.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a critical thinker, and a problem solver who can effectively communicate the benefits of a well-architected and governed SharePoint Online ecosystem to a diverse audience. They should be familiar with Digital Workplace industry trends. And they should know when and when not to use SharePoint Online to solve business problems. This position will report to the IT Strategy & Planning manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive SharePoint Online architecture strategy by partnering with business and IT leadership to understand, validate, and rationalize needs across the global enterprise
  • Create and maintain a technology vision for SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related content and collaboration technologies
  • Work within cross-functional teams of project managers, business analysts, architects, engineers, developers, and administrators to provide expertise in the planning and design of business initiatives as they relate to SharePoint Online and related Microsoft 365 offerings
  • Align with other Domain Architects and Enterprise Architects to ensure holistic thinking; in particular, ensure collaboration with CRM, ERP, and PLM architects around where content should be stored and accessed
  • Design with user experience and knowledge management principles in mind
  • Design for a secure M365 ecosystem using CIS benchmarks or other security best practices
  • Create Architecture documents to support and capture design decisions

Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related study (or equivalent project-related experience)
  • Previous experience architecting Microsoft 365 ecosystems, in particular SharePoint Online
  • Business acumen, and the ability to communicate to executives, business domain stakeholders and technical staff alike
  • Proven ability to help in the organization and sequencing of business and IT-created demands
  • Expertise in the related Microsoft technology stack: SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Viva, Stream, etc.
  • Expertise in modern SharePoint Online navigation, metadata, page design, and search architecture
  • Familiarity with legacy SharePoint (on-prem), ADFS file servers (on-prem), and Azure storage options
  • Familiarity with the ITIL framework and Architecture frameworks like TOGAF
  • 100% remote with occasional travel
