This position will perform a variety of complex repairs and maintenance in (HVAC-R) Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Systems and related electric and pneumatic controls in our manufacturing and commercial office facilities in Harahan, Louisiana.

  • Maintains, repairs and replaces air conditioning equipment of the reciprocating, centrifugal and scroll types including related electrical motors (open and hermetic), and their respective controls. Including calibration of equipment, gauges and controls, handling of refrigerant, and refrigerant charging systems.
  • Maintains, repairs and replaces condenser and chill water systems, including pumps, control valves, heat exchangers, cooling towers and related controls.
  • Maintains, repairs, replaces air moving, heating, cooling, humidification, filtering equipment and systems such as fans, heat pumps, fan coil units, rooftop package units, p-tac units and Liebert units. Includes electronic and pneumatic modulating thermostats, humidistats, duct stats and pressure and volume controls.
  • Maintains repairs and replaces equipment related to air compressors, air dryers and associated controls.
  • Maintains, repairs and replaces various refrigeration units including refrigerators, freezers and ice makers.
  • Proficient in soldering, brazing and pipe fitting for HVAC-R related tasks.
  • Familiarization with Building Automation Systems and Operation.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic equipment or systems.
  • Provides direction and training to less experienced Maintenance Generalists.
  • Plans, selects, and lays out required materials for service and repair work.
  • Works from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts or verbal instructions and operates a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations.


  • Universal Refrigerant License. ( Certification for handling and disposal of refrigerant)
  • Completion of a two year technical degree, trade school or apprenticeship program completion or equivalent plus seven years’ experience as a skilled maintenance technician. 
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals sufficient to deal with service and repairs.
  • Knowledge of refrigerant theory and computation of heating and cooling load and capacities.
  • Ability to use hand tools and testing and measuring devices such as wet- and dry bulb thermometers, manometers and draft gauges, hand torches, leak detectors and multi meters, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematic drawings, charts and technical instructions.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and to present the facts clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to properly use hand tools and power equipment used in the trade.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb stairs, lift and carry heavy objects at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and to work from ladders or elevated platforms including an aerial lift.
  • Must be willing to following all Company policies and guidelines.
