Provide leadership and technical contribution to development projects from start to finish.  Typical responsibilities include:

  • Technical leadership and mentoring
  • Develop and design innovative food-safe equipment
  • Oversee internal test programs as well as field tests and installations of new products
  • Lead feasibility studies and define project specifications
  • Utilize 3D design tools; Apply principles of hygienic design
  • Component research, specification, and vendor relations (motors, valves, pumps, actuators, etc.)
  • Collaborate and align with team members: design, drafting, commercial, manufacturing, service, and management
  • Define and adhere to project goals in a fast-paced development atmosphere
  • Simplify complex problems


  • Bachelors of Engineering
  • Demonstrable pattern of bringing new technology to the workplace; portfolio of creative solutions that demonstrate:
  • Extensive knowledge of electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience with rapid prototyping tools and techniques
  • Proficiency in 3D solid modeling, assembly, and drafting practices
  • Understanding of tolerances
  • Broad exposure to various manufacturing methods
  • Proven ability to work with and lead a technical team
  • Maintain objectivity and flexibility in context of new learning
  • Appreciate the value and contributions of fellow team members
  • 7+ years of equipment design experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel, domestic and international

Ideal/Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with sanitary design for industrial food processing
  • Sheet metal design and manufacturing experience
  • Solidworks modeling and analysis tools
  • Mechanism design, FEA, CFD, etc.
  • Experience with Solidworks PDM or comparable document control system
  • Experience with controls, fluid flow, steam, fuel gas burners, or vision systems
