We are seeking a Business Analyst for the Corporate IT group who will help with a wide range of strategic projects and analytical needs. This requires an individual who is a self- starter, a critical thinker, a fast learner, and a problem solver, and who brings superior communication and interpersonal skills.   Projects will have broad impact within our Laitram Machinery and Lapeyre Stair divisions and will focus on positioning the right technology solutions to meet and solve key business challenges. This position will report to the IT Business and Program Planning Supervisor and will be based in New Orleans, LA.

  • Work with the IT supervisor and division leadership to identify, frame, and solve strategic challenges for the business
  • Work with internal departments to understand current processes; identify bottlenecks, challenges and opportunities for improvement
  • Work with the business stakeholders to implement and pilot business recommendations
  • Plan and prioritize the release of solution road-maps, including the development and execution of high-level project plans
  • Assist in coordinating communication and change management efforts with business stakeholders to promote adoption and benefits realization
  • Participate in cross-functional teams as a consultant and advisor on our technology offerings and best practices    
  • Assist with preparation, communication and execution of platform strategic plans and presentations

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a strategic consulting or a business analyst role, with the ability to quickly understand a new topic and provide recommendations
  • Ability to frame and simplify complex issues
  • A keen analytical mind with a sound understanding of business principles
  • Ability to work in a complex environment where scope and/or expected outcomes are not always clear from the start
  • Self-directed with strong organizational and problem solving skills; proven track record of pro-activity and taking initiative to solve problems
  • Ability to self-teach and seek out other resources to create solutions in undefined areas
  • Ability to work well with others and comfortable with asking questions; focus on collaboration
  • Clear communicator

  • Curious, a learning mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Relevant experience in a Manufacturing environment or with ERP, Engineering, or Sales/CRM systems would be nice to have
