Laitram is currently seeking an Application Specialist.  The ideal candidate will join our Global Product Stewardship team to provide technical expertise for internal and external customers.  Our Product Stewardship team responsibly manages our products through their lifecycle to maximize customer value and prevent or minimize negative customer impact.

  • Coordinates global performance-related customer complaints for modular plastic belting, Thermodrive products, and equipment
  • Track, monitor, identify and elevate class issues
  • Tracks complaints, ensures complaint investigations are thorough, accurate, detailed and timely
  • Develops and implements procedures to ensure complaint receipt, entry, analysis and response follow established timelines
  • Works with cross-functional teams to clarify triggering events, identify the root cause and facilitate identification and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
  • Monitors incoming product samples (RMAs) and coordinates/conducts sample review and evaluation
  • Coordinates product testing with internal and external labs
  • Leads investigation and root cause analysis of critical (high-risk) customer complaints
  • Documents results of critical complaint investigations and assists with post-mortem incident reviews
  • Provides technical assistance to internal technical resources, account managers and customers by phone, written reports, webcasts and in-person visits to customer facilities
  • Represents our company on external trade groups and teams to support business objectives

  • High level of competence understanding and applying analytical investigation techniques
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and ability to pay close attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent collaboration and problem resolution skills to drive root cause determination and effect change
  • BS in Engineering (mechanical or industrial), Science/Technical (Chemistry, forensics, polymer, or safety engineering). 
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in industry
  • Strong technical skills using Microsoft Office, Access or similar data management tools
  • Familiarity with Oracle, Teleservice and Dynamics
  • Strong commitment to team dynamics with the ability to contribute expertise
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and maintain flexibility while meeting strict deadlines
  • Travel requirement approximately 10%-20%
