Intralox, L.L.C., a division of Laitram, L.L.C., and a global provider of conveyance solutions and services, has an opening for a Lead Enterprise Architect reporting directly to Intralox’s Global Enterprise Architect. This is a senior technical position within a global IT function responsible for architecting and supervising activities related to the integration of software programs, applications, and third-party/bolt-on solutions. The individual in this role leads an integrated response to new enterprise initiatives, inside and outside the IT Department, and digital solutions we build internally and buy off the shelf. They are expected to constantly source, assess and recommend information and technology solutions that reflect world-class best practices and solutions. They are experts on technical architecture including extensibility, customization, and integration.


Some of the specific duties for this role include: 

  • Defining and maintaining technology roadmaps for our Enterprise applications and Digital solutions with current state and target state definitions; also responsible for owning the inventories of integrations.
  • Oversee development of net new software, irrespective of business use; heavy focus on integration of applications built in-house as well as commercial off-the-shelf solutions
  • Coaching and mentoring software developers and other technology professionals in the team to continuously improve our technical and business acumen
  • Spearheading research, selection and standardization of our software tools and processes in collaborative way for the department
  • Leading innovation thinking as a thought partner for new internal platforms and build versus buy software decisions


  • Strategy, Planning, Design
    • Work with the business and internal customers to document the functional needs driving large scale technical initiatives such as Field Service, CRM, Manufacturing execution system (MES), ERP refreshes, and other enterprise system recommendations and designs, legacy systems replacements, etc.
    • Works on projects/issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments. Develop and maintain a solution architecture blueprint for the assigned department(s).
    • Orchestrate integration projects and corresponding strategies between business units and development teams.
    • Ensure that integration projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
    • Ensure that integration planning and practices are aligned with strategic business goals and the company’s overall strategic vision.
    • Develop standards and processes to support and facilitate integration projects and initiatives.
    • Research and make recommendations on integration products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
    • Build relationships with software development and engineering teams to gain an understanding of application architectures and required functionality.
    • Build relationships with vendors of application software deployed in the organization’s IT environment to learn about and provide feedback on their technical integration capabilities.
  • Deploy and Operate
    • Works on multiple projects as a project leader or as the subject matter expert.
    • Oversees internal and vendor driven development/system configurations/upgrades ensuring that application designs are consistent with industry best practices including scalability, availability, maintainability, and flexibility.
    • Oversees the technical team through system enhancements, bug fixes, internal and regression testing, support and ongoing maintenance of application suites.
    • Participates in the project initiation process and lead/assist with developing and executing appropriate systems, applications, and/or architecture and deployment plans.
    • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of newly integrated software programs and applications.
    • Liaise with software developers and engineers to address issues in program logic and the integration of new applications with existing systems software.
    • Plan, execute, and manage the integration of new applications into existing systems and software throughout the enterprise.
    • Plan, execute, and manage the integration of new application integration technology into the existing ecosystem.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA or Master’s degree in technical field desired.
  • Enterprise-wide understanding of core ERP business processes and integrations, systems & data
  • 10+ years of experience in developing and implementing resilient and robust architectures for large and complex implementations, building conceptual, logical and solution architectures for evolving and steady state business needs, providing architecture oversight during implementation, solution design, involving core ERP (HR, Finance, Supply Chain), B2B, and B2C applications and data integrations including single sign on (SSO)
  • Experience working with large application platforms and their partners such as: Oracle EBS, Microsoft platforms including Dynamics, CISCO Contact Center, and SaaS providers such as ServiceNow, SalesForce, etc
  • Experience or familiarity with engineering design configurators, sales configurators, and PLM systems.
  • Strong, hands-on expertise with cloud services with a focus on Cloud-based application design; previous experience in migrating enterprise applications to the Cloud is a plus
  • Proven experience in developing enterprise and solution level architectural designs.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the linking of cross-functional applications between disparate business units and systems.
  • Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data mapping.
  • Strong background in risk management methodologies as they relate to integration/software engineering.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, designing technical solutions, and presenting proposed solutions to customers.
  • Strong documentation skills and experience generating technical documents, diagrams, solutions specifications, guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of relational database design and management techniques.
  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience with services oriented architecture
  • Confidence and experience with multiple development languages, methodologies, and frameworks.

Prefered Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Oracle's Application Implementation Methodology (AIM)
  • 5+ years' experience in a Project Management or Lead role is preferred
  • System/Tool Certifications in core enterprise business applications listed above
  • Certified in one or more: -Certification of Competency in Business Analysis™ (CCBATM), Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP™), Certified BusinessProcess Professional (CBPP®) or other formally accredited certifications in Business Analysis, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
