Intralox is currently seeking a mechanical development engineer for our New Product Development Team to work out of our New Orleans, LA or Baltimore, MD office. This individual will be primarily responsible for contributing to the development of new products through the specification, concepting, evaluation, and validation of prototype and production designs.

  • Involvement in the complete new product development process from problem definition to product release including:
    • Voice of Customer
    • Definition of Performance Specifications and Project Scope
    • Concept Brainstorms
    • Design Reviews
    • Development of Virtual and Physical Prototypes
    • Prototype Evaluation
    • Test Plan Development and Execution
    • Field Testing and Customer Feedback
    • Design Refinement
    • Manufacturing Integration
  • Collaborate with in-house patent attorney on filing patents for new concepts including drafting/proofing claims and drawings
  • Communicate and interface with team members, representatives from other departments, and internal customers regarding problem/opportunity definitions, project scope, and project status 
  • Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical components and systems by applying principles of general physics, mechanics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, vibration, acoustics, and material science in accordance with mechanical engineering standards and design formulas.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Recent professional experience in Solid Modeling (SolidWorks, Pro-E, Inventor, or similar software)
