Lapeyre Stair, a division of Laitram, LLC, has an opening for a Sales Development Representative.  As a member of this team, the qualified individual will be responsible for calling on new and existing accounts in all phases of the construction cycle: project conception, pre-bid, bid phases, & construction. This position will also assist in the development and implementation of strategies at specific accounts. 

Lapeyre Stair constructs precision built metal stair systems using a state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing system. The Lapeyre Stair product line includes Alternating Tread stairs, Steel Egress stairs (welded and bolted) as well as crossover systems, exit and intermediate platforms, and safety gates. As a business development representative, you will:

  • Use prospecting strategies to lead initial outreach to prospects
  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • Contact potential clients through cold calls and emails
  • Identify the needs and challenges of the prospective customer and suggest appropriate products / services
  • Schedule discovery meetings between account managers and prospects
  • Research target industries, profiles, customer needs and other data that can be used in creating strategies for business development

Required qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive or similar role
  • Excellent phone, writing, and listening skills
  • Self-starter who has a desire to learn, grow, and excel in their role
  • Knowledge of business processes and organizational structures
  • Experience reaching or exceeding weekly/monthly activity goals/quotas
  • Experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience with CRM software (Salesforce, Hubspot, etc)
  • Understanding of industrial and manufacturing industries
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent
