Prime Shrimp is a young, rapidly-growing company using innovative technology to produce premium-quality, individually quick-frozen (IQF) shrimp. Our state-of-the-art processing facility is located in the greater New Orleans area.

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Sales Associate contributes to the success of the Commercial Sales organization through market research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, sales outreach and account management. This position presents the opportunity to play an integral role in the nationwide launch of a new product and creating a sustainable business model through customer acquisition, retention and development.

  • Managing every step of a sales lead-to-customer pipeline, both in real world execution and through accurate maintenance of a CRM program
  • Conducting market research to identify sales leads and gathering information across specified geographic regions and business sectors
  • Working with prospective and existing customers to build relationships, understand needs and qualify opportunities
  • Strategically using - and playing an active role in constantly improving - a sales toolkit encompassing brand messaging, digital assets and physical collateral
  • Identifying, exploring and analyzing data points including industry trends, market response, sales metrics and internal KPIs to guide and measure the effectiveness of commercial efforts
  • Demonstrating an entrepreneurial, problem solving personality


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Microsoft Office fluency
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills – including strong phone skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and situational awareness
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-20%, mostly predictable and scheduled

Desired Qualifications

  • 1-3 years outside sales or comparable experience
  • CRM proficiency
  • Food service distribution knowledge
  • Existing business relationships in the food/beverage space
