Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with New Product Development teams to establish and document the quality inspection plans for production use.
  • Determines when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing processes.
  • Review and analyze part measurement results, recommend changes to processes based upon findings, and perform follow up to verify effectiveness.
  • Facilitates and promotes use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action for investigations.
  • Research new quality technology and champions implementation of valuable technologies into our environment.
  • Mentors and trains Quality Technicians, Quality Inspectors, Machinists, Machine Operators and other staff.
  • Training includes raising awareness of SPC, developing product knowledge and visual attributes and training individuals on tools that assist in quality assurance.
  • Dispositions parts placed on hold following current processes and correctly records supporting details.
  • Makes consistent and principle-based decisions on inspection data and quality standards.
  • Documents and maintains all quality databases, quality drawings and part libraries.
  • Supports Continuous Improvement and Quality Engineering led initiatives.
  • Maintains equipment calibration and calibration logs.
  • Supports and conducts technical audits.
  • Provides urgent Production/Operational Quality support.
  • Effectively communicates/elevates urgent Quality needs and risks.
  • Monitors production data systems for opportunities to reduce the percentage of defective parts produced.
  • Reviews customer complaints and follows up with required documentation from customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other related discipline
  • 2+ years experience working in a manufacturing quality environment.
  • Trained and experienced in CMM programming, PC-DMIS Cad++
  • Statistical Process Control experience.
  • Proficiency in standard software packages (Excel, Microsoft, etc.)
  • Demonstrated record of self-management
  • Able to make and communicate consistent and logical decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a quality-oriented mindset
  • Passion for learning and growth
  • Works well as a team player; cooperates with others
  • Ability to make and communicate consistent and logical decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional quality certifications (ASQ, etc.)
  • Strong computer aptitude and Access Database experience.
