Intralox, L.L.C. Operations Department has an opening for a Quality Engineer in our Harahan, LA Assembly Operations facility. The Quality Engineer will help plan, organize, and execute Operations Quality Control Program and report to the Operations Quality Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Plastics, New Product Development, and other technical and commercial departments to establish, document and publish quality specifications and tolerances for customer products produced by Operations.
  • Review and analyze part measurement results, recommend changes to processes based upon findings, and perform follow up to verify effectiveness.
  • Facilitates and promotes use of appropriate problem solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action for investigations.
  • Researches new quality technology and champions implementation of valuable technologies into our environment.
  • Mentors and trains Quality Technicians, Quality Inspectors, Operators and other staff.
  • Work with Operations Management to:
    • Ensure quality control procedures and processes performed by operators on the floor are properly followed
    • Develop, train, and monitor personnel on quality equipment and procedures
    • Monitor production data systems for opportunities to reduce assembly related defects and increase production efficiency
    • Oversee the investigation of quality issues and the determination of root cause and corrective actions
    • Liaison with global resources to ensure consistency of quality processes and specifications
  • Audit quality system insuring adherence to Quality Manual procedures.
  • Make consistent and principle-based decisions on inspection data and quality standards
  • Document and maintain all quality databases, drawings, and parts libraries
  • Ensure the maintenance of all quality equipment calibration and calibration logs
  • Support projects to improve quality as dictated by the Quality or Operations business plans

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related Engineering degree
  • Demonstrated record of self-management
  • Process-oriented, with the aptitude for creating a process where none exists
  • Strong attention to detail with a quality-oriented mindset
  • Excellent organization and people skill with the ability to communicate with a diverse team
  • Proficiency in standard software packages (MS Office, Excel, etc.)
  • Passion for learning and growth
  • Works well as a team player; cooperates with others
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally
  • Ability to make and communicate consistent and logical decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Work experience in a manufacturing quality environment.
  • Professional quality certifications (ASQ, Six Sigma, etc...)
  • Experience in Statistical Process Control
  • Experience in the plastics injection molding industry
  • Experience with Infinity
