Responsibilities:

• Coordinates activities for Assembly-Finishing personnel in support of completing day to day requirements
• Stays informed of active shop orders - setup, run times, delays and addresses issues timely
• Verifies inventory items are available for upcoming assembly jobs
• Works with scheduling to ensure production due dates are met
• Contributing team member for production when required
• Works with other leads to balance team demand -vs- shop demand
• Promotes safety, quality, on time delivery and best practices are followed
• Completes quality corrective actions, routing updates, maintenance requests and documents Standard Operating Procedures
• Works with team to resolve time keeping and quantity transactional errors timely
• Coordinates training in department for new or existing employees
• Promotes the Laitram Business Philosophy and encourages continuous improvement
• Provides work instruction, review of processes and first part inspection for team members
• Conducts Laitram Continuous Improvement and team meetings
• Follow and supports the Machine Shop attendance policy
• Sets up and runs laser marking equipment to meet customer requirements & production needs
• Exhibit and promotes teamwork and self-management

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years working in a production environment, Assembly experience preferred
• Prior experience in a lead or supervisor position or 5+ years of experience working in Assembly
• Must be able to use Microsoft software (Outlook, excel, word, teams etc.).
• Can work a flexible work schedule
• Stable work experience in a production environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment
• Possess a strong attention to detail
• Can use forklifts and overhead cranes safely
• Able to work under the pressure of deadlines
• Must be willing and able to perform a variety of tasks in support of meeting departments needs
• Must meet physical job description - Ability to perform the essential functions of this position as detailed in the functional job description, including the requirement to lift and carry 50 pounds
