This Portfolio Project Manager will be working with driven and talented people across multiple departments to execute on a portfolio of projects that support our business.  For a person to be successful in this role, they need to be highly motivated to learn new things, bring strong organization skills, enjoy navigating complexity, and demonstrate a wide degree of creativity.

Responsibilities:  
  • Lead and monitor a portfolio of projects from strategy to execution
  • Coordinate project intake, prioritization, and evaluation framework for managing and reporting on the project portfolio
  • Ensure dynamic and proactive communication as the primary point of contact with key stakeholders
  • Clearly assess proposed and ongoing projects based on value and risk metrics as well as opportunity cost and strategic alignment
  • Consistently identify and eliminate project issues and bottlenecks while anticipating and diffusing project risks
  • Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and navigate effectively across diverse teams
  • Drive objective and timely decision-making to move projects forward and achieve objectives
  • Keen ability to recognize and apply an appropriate sense of urgency

Requirements:
  • B.S. or B.A. from an accredited university or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years managing projects, preferably in new product development and/or manufacturing
  • Demonstrated track record to manage time and priorities
  • Ability to manage complex projects and tasks with attention to detail
  • Technically minded, with the ability to grasp and communicate different technical concepts
  • Demonstrated outstanding written, storytelling and listening skills
  • Applies strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving strategies
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, along with a knack for processing new information quickly and on the fly 
  • Ability to multi-task creatively and strategically with proven track record of proactivity 
  • Ability to self-manage, i.e., work independently with minimal supervision, and to drive to get to critical decisions and deliver results
  • Proven leadership skills - Highly motivated and enthusiastic, flexible, and adaptable 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and Smartsheet preferred 
  • PMP or formal Project Management training, and an understanding of Agile methodologies, are helpful 
  • Engineering background a plus
  • Future willingness to travel (10%)
