Laitram Machinery is looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor on our 2nd shift.  This individual will be responsible for overseeing multiple manufacturing processes used to achieve high quality parts used for the assembly of precision industrial seafood and nut processing equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize, monitor, and prioritize team’s daily tasks and activities to ensure production schedule dates are met
  • Maintain communication with team members to ensure that procedures and processes are well understood and followed
  • Evaluate multiple work centers to ensure optimum efficiency is achieved
  • Assist in recruitment and onboarding of new team members
  • Assist in cross training team members to sustain a high level of flexibility within the group
  • Ensure that parts that flow through each work center are labeled and delivered to the correct staging area
  • Oversee the operation/maintenance of all fabricating equipment
  • Conduct monthly reviews with team members to ensure accordance with Laitram Business Philosophy and throughput goals
  • Collect data and build metrics to measure group/individual performance and to help aid in decision making
  • Conduct managerial responsibilities for all direct reports including performance reviews, disciplinary actions, lead trainings, LCI exercises
  • Participate in department meetings: listen effectively and keep open mindset
  • Identify issues in fabrication process by analyzing root causes, thinking critically, developing effective solutions, and making informed decisions
  • Hold team accountable to following safety protocols

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience in operating equipment/working in a manufacturing environment
  • Computer skills, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to learn and apply basic programming processes
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Ability to work overtime
  • Technical expertise
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes; knowledgeable about different materials, tools, and equipment used in fab process to provide guidance and address any technical challenges that arise

    • Capable of adjusting plans and resources as needed to meet goals and address unforeseen circumstances

    • Familiar with Lean Management and 5S methodology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a lead person or Supervisor in a fabricating environment
