Laitram Machinery, Inc. has a position available for an Inventory Supervisor for the Inventory Management team. The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for managing and controlling the inventory of material, parts, equipment, and consumables used in Production Operations as well as managing the shipping and receiving function for Laitram Machinery. The Inventory Supervisor reports to the Production Planning/Procurement Manager.

  • Supervise and lead the Inventory Management Team
  • Manage resource requirements (i.e., inventory and consumables) for Production Operations
  • Manage the shipping and receiving of inventory items and finished goods
  • Maintain inventory accuracy to required standards
  • Conduct regular cycle counts of inventory items to verify accuracy/location
  • Perform annual ABC analysis to assign efficient cycle count routines to all inventory item
  • Design and continuously improve the storage and layout of the parts crib
  • Develop policies required to successfully execute the inventory management function
  • Research, evaluate, and implement inventory management best practices and processes
  • Develop, implement, and maintain operational (i.e., quality and productive) metrics
  • Execute annual Performance Improvement Process (PIP) reviews



  • B.S. degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, and/or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in inventory management/control
  • Familiarity and experience with the use of manufacturing resource planning (MRP) system
  • Previous supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Understanding of the demands associated with supporting a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint to communicate performance metrics and project updates
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, as needed
  • Able to work outside of regular shift hours (nights, weekend, holidays) as needed

Desired Qualifications:

  • Oracle/Mapics/Other MRP system experience a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an inventory clerk, parts crib attendant or similar work experience a plus
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
