Laitram LLC Information Technology Services Department has an opening for a Systems Administrator reporting to the Infrastructure Manager. The primary responsibilities for this position include effective operation, maintenance and support of systems hardware, software, network and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Second Level Support for various global systems, including, but not limited to:
    • Global MPLS Network
    • Global Backup System
    • Virtual Infrastructure
    • Global Cisco Network
    • Hardware Support
    • Application Support
  • Install, document and maintain Laitram’s computer and network systems
  • Participate in ITS Projects to ensure complete understanding of new and upgraded systems. 
  • Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks. 
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Assist with managing vendor relationships, support service selection, and contract renewals
  • Global travel opportunities as business needs require.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate technical or business degree or at least 3 years of equivalent experience
  • Strong competency in Information Technology
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned work according to business need and priorities
  • Strong analytical skills, self-managed, and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to interface with all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to create thorough documentation using Company/IT Standards
  •  Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.  In most cases this will be planned, but some instances will involve little notice.
