We are seeking an IT Architect (Networking) who will develop effective architectures for securely connecting our applications, systems, and offices. The successful candidate will lead in the creation of a technology vision for the Network domain (e.g., Multi-Cloud Connectivity, Operational Technology (OT) Segmentation, Next-Gen Firewalls, SD-WAN, enterprise-level network automation, etc.). They will develop networking standards for our project and product teams to leverage. They will have an excitement for enabling a growing, global manufacturing company through properly architected technology.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a critical thinker, and a problem solver who can effectively communicate the benefits of secure-by-design thinking and networking industry trends to a diverse audience. This position will report to the IT Strategy & Planning manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive network architecture strategy by partnering with business and IT leadership to understand, validate, and rationalize networking needs across the global enterprise
  • Create and maintain a technology vision for the Networking domain
  • Work within cross-functional teams of project managers, business analysts, architects, engineers, developers, and administrators to provide expertise in the planning and design of business initiatives as they relate to networking
  • Contribute to the technical design of business systems to ensure adherence to our networking standards
  • Work with the OT team to segment and secure equipment at our manufacturing facilities
  • Align with other Domain Architects and Enterprise Architects to ensure holistic thinking
  • Create Architecture documents to support and capture design decisions

Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related study (or equivalent project-related experience)
  • Previous experience architecting enterprise-level networks is required
  • Business acumen, and the ability to communicate to executives, business domain stakeholders and technical staff alike
  • Proven ability to help in the organization and sequencing of business and IT-created demands
  • Full-stack knowledge of Networking concepts like global routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, etc.), core switches (preferably Cisco Nexus), next-gen firewalls (preferably FortiGate), VPNs (preferably FortiGate), etc.
  • Full-stack knowledge of IT Infrastructure concepts like Applications, Databases, Operating Systems, IP Networks, Compute and Storage Systems, and Containers
  • Familiarity with the Purdue model, specifically levels 2-5
  • Familiarity with the ITIL framework and Architecture frameworks like TOGAF
