We are seeking an IT Architect who will lead enterprise-wide planning for our Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This consists of Microsoft 365 Apps (Word, Outlook, etc.), Exchange Online, SharePoint Online including Teams and OneDrive, Planner/Project, Visio, Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Viva, and related toolsets. The successful candidate will create and maintain a technology roadmap for the products, will set governing standards, and will participate in the discovery and design of related initiatives.

The ideal candidate is someone who can be a leader on Microsoft 365 standards, roadmaps, and architectures.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee governance, costs, and integration, manage the technology lifecycle, and ensure the M365 Team manages updates effectively. Technology lifecycle includes major updates, feature releases that require OCM, and end-of-life sunset/replacement planning.
  • Drive M365 architecture decisions by partnering with business and IT stakeholders to understand, validate, and rationalize needs across the global enterprise.
  • Assess the feasibility and criticality of initial requests to inform prioritization of requested work. Validate solution requirements and advise on selecting M365 or a third-party solution.
  • Work within cross-functional teams of project managers, business analysts, architects, engineers, developers, and administrators to provide expertise in the planning and design of related technology initiatives.
  • Align with other architects to ensure holistic thinking in the planning and design of initiatives.
  • Stay aligned with other teams who are also working in the Microsoft ecosystem: EUC team with Intune, BI team with Power BI, D365 team with Dataverse and PowerApps, Identity team with Entra ID, and Compute/Storage team with Azure.
  • Design with lifecycles in mind: procurement, deployment, health monitoring and usage telemetry, patching and updating, and eventual migration and retirement.
  • Design for a secure environment using CIS benchmarks or other security frameworks.
  • Create Architecture artifacts, like system design diagrams, to support decisions and capture as-is and future states.

Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related study (or equivalent project-related experience)
  • Proven experience architecting Microsoft 365 ecosystems
  • Proven ability to help in organizing and sequencing business and IT-created initiatives
  • Business acumen, and the ability to effectively communicate with executives, business domain stakeholders and technical staff alike
  • Proven ability to tailor technology governance and product adoption to business needs
  • Expertise in the related Microsoft technology stack: SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, etc.
