Intralox, a division of Laitram LLC, is seeking an HR Generalist to join its team in our Savage, MD office.  The qualified individual will be responsible for performing various HR-related duties working closely with Laitram’s Human Resources department in New Orleans, LA. Being the sole HR resource at this location, the candidate must be a self-starter, have superior organization, interpersonal and communication skills, be self-managed, act with the highest level of confidentiality, and be comfortable working alone with limited day to day oversight. The position reports to the Human Resources Director and will serve as the liaison between our Savage based employees/managers and required HR subject matter experts in New Orleans.


  •  Provide day to day HR support to managers/employees based in Intralox’s Savage office.
  • Serve as the liaison between Savage based employees/managers and Laitram’s HR department subject matter experts.

  • Functions as a key member of the HR team working on the continued development of HR practices with an emphasis on continuous improvement and high performance.

  • Maintains high visibility to promote HR programs and assist management with effective facility wide communication

  • Develops and maintains strong partner relationships with the business and key stakeholders to coach and influence the best business decisions.

  • Specific HR responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Collaborate with and support our Savage based Recruiter and ongoing talent acquisition efforts

    • Responsible for onboarding and HR orientation of new employees

    • Working closely with Laitram’s Benefits Specialist and Leave Administrator, will be the first point of contact for benefit and leave related matters

    • Assists with local company activities, events and initiatives in areas such as health & wellness, family outings, etc.

    • Maintains HR information system records

    • Maintain relationships with employees, building on company culture, philosophy, and engagement

    • Working closely with Laitram’s HR Director, Employee Development Specialists and Corporate Counsel, first point of contact with employees regarding matters of concern to redirect as needed for handling


  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as an HR Generalist or equivalent role

  • Extensive experience in handling employee complaints and resolution

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent at organization and self-management.

  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality 

  • Solid computer skills, with a strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office environment including Word, Excel and Power Point

  • Experience with HRIS/ERP systems, preferably Oracle

  • Some limited travel is expected for this position.

  • PHR certification preferred
