Factory Floor Leads are front line leaders who ensure that we execute the day-to-day of our Operations so that we achieve our overall goals.  They are responsible for managing people, equipment, and areas.  Selecting and developing outstanding Leads is critical to Operational Excellence and making our team the best it can be.

As part of the Intralox Baltimore Operations Team, Leads will set up and manage Materials Management/Assembly/Kitting/R&D/Testing cells/lines. The Leads will contribute to and execute important processes, develop people, ensure quality, monitor capacity & schedules, and live the Intralox Laitram Continuous Improvement Philosophy.


Responsibilities

  • Lead a team.  Inspire, coordinate, and manage a team of five to fifteen individuals. 
  • Maintain continuous 100% accountability of your people, equipment, and tools.
  • Lead initial and on-going operational, safety, and equipment training for team members.
  • Respond to routine requests and ability to handle escalated issues in a timely manner.
  • Drive daily and weekly missions.  Effectively coordinate resources to accomplish those missions.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills, teamwork, and leadership to overcome obstacles.
  • Point of contact for initial team concerns. Promote an environment of teamwork, cohesion and consistency.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, introspection, and resilience in the face of constant change and challenge.
  • Establish and sustain the highest standards of professional behavior and product quality.  Responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all team deliverables.
  • Understand the implications of upstream and downstream results.  Work closely with other leads and management to surmount challenges.
  • Maintain cleanliness & order in your assigned work area. 
  • Identify skills and knowledge gaps in your team members & then coach them to close those gaps. 
  • Gauge capacity of your team and then participate in the interviewing/hiring/onboarding processes as appropriate.
  • Ensure strong communication and collaboration with team, leads and supervisors.
  • Identify and implement process improvements as needed while enforcing company policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure standard operating practices are followed and conduct quality audits as needed.
  • Administer and adhere to the attendance policy of the Department.
  • Communicate production updates to stakeholders and other departments as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with internal personnel at all levels as well as external vendors and sales teams.
  • Previous experience with scheduling work and managing employee tasks.
  • Experience in handling, prioritizing, and delegating multiple tasks in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Ability to work overtime, flexible schedules, and weekends as required.
  • Ability to exhibit teamwork and self-management practices.
  • Ability to safely operate various lift equipment.
  • Desire to lead, mentor and develop others.
  • Driven to accomplish assignments through teamwork and communication.
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8-10 hours with regular breaks.)
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of this position as detailed in the functional job description, including the requirements to lift and carry XX pounds and work under and around conveyors.

Desired Qualifications

  • Stable work experience as a lead, foreman, or supervisor.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software.
  • Previous experience working in a factory environment.
  • Previous experience with various types of Material Handling Equipment.
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Office products.
  • Intralox Equipment product knowledge.
  • Previous experience with Oracle operating system.
  • Experience/Certifications with various types of MHE.
