Engineering Technician
Intralox LLC, a division of Laitram LLC, has a position available for an Engineering Technician who will work in our New Orleans office to support our Engineering Support Group within the new product development department in the creation of innovative, high-value solutions for challenging real-world problems. This test engineer will be responsible for designing and executing test plans that are efficient and thorough and to provide documented data to the engineering team so that the equipment can be properly utilized in our customer’s plants for years to come.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct testing and tasks associated with New Product Development and document results.
- Research background, application, theory, and previous testing methods to design appropriate and thorough test procedures.
- Execute tests and document all results in a clear and organized method which can be shared with and comprehended by all team members from engineers to account managers.
- Prepare samples and run material property tests utilizing specialized laboratory equipment.
- “Own” the execution and outcome of given tests. Be able to explain methodology.
- Create detailed reports to document the outcome of tests, in some instances create digital tools to aid in analysis of complex data.
- Assemble / Design/ Modify mechanical components as needed.
- Monitor ongoing long-term tests.
- Maintain workshop and test areas to ensure they are clean and orderly.
- Provide training on the operation of test equipment as needed.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology is helpful but not required.
- Self-managed, team player able to complete assigned priorities without supervision.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications.
- Experience with hand tools and power tools.
- Comfortable with Microsoft office applications as well as experienced in excel. AutoCad and Solidworks are a plus.
- Able to follow basic drawings or test plans and execute while exercising superb attention to detail.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds safely, and work standing up for an extended period in an unconditioned warehouse.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and interest – ability to research, understand, and communicate concepts associated with a given technology.
- Familiarity with PLCs/VFDs is a plus but not required.
