As a part of the Continuous Improvement Team, this person would work as a subject matter expert in our Equipment business to help with the identification and prioritization of business problems, capture clear business requirements and translate those requirements into solutions.

This individual will be responsible for mapping and designing processes for new business requirements or changes. This person will need to develop a keen understanding of our business processes and the ability to propose optimizations and continuous improvements. It is imperative for this individual to be proactive and self-managed in their work so they can identify opportunities and drive greater business benefits from improvements in processes and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Business to IT relationship by identifying and sequencing key business initiatives

  • Support the Continuous Improvement group’s portfolio of internal projects.

  • Partner with business teams including those on the manufacturing floor to clarify and scope the business vision for selected priorities and map out the technology/system needs

  • Lead efforts to translate high-level vision into concrete action plans for each key initiative

  • Clarify business problems that demonstrate a clear and present-need based on quantifiable data

  • Translate business needs into system requirements that can be handed-off to systems analysts

  • Scope, propose and support the buy-in of systems and solutions that provide an integrated and comprehensive answer to problems

  • Present initial design ideas and capture critical user and system documents

  • Act as a communication broker to ensure business functions and IT project teams are aligned

  • Ensure design processes and procedures for new technology initiatives achieve immediate benefit

  • Work cohesively with cross functional partners to define end to end processes

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes on the work room floor and within the office to eliminate waste

  • Work with the infrastructure, ERP, enterprise architecture and business architecture groups within the business to help integrate new projects into the IT environment including transition into long-term delivery and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required – Business, Engineering, and/or Computer Science degrees preferred

  • Proven IT track record with minimum of 7 years in technology roles       

  • Manufacturing experience with a preference for Discrete Manufacturing

  • Excellent written, verbal, and diagramming/mapping skills

  • Experience with ERP, specifically Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) preferred

  • Experience with Engineering Systems such as CAD, PDM and PLM preferred

  • Understanding of design and management tools for Business IT systems development

  • Understanding of Data Governance principles

  • Experience with Business Process Management Notation (BPMN 2.0 preferred)

  • Experience with Change Management model (Prosci preferred)

  • Understanding of Project Management (PMI preferred)

  • Principled thinking with eye towards simplification and continuous improvement

  • Understanding of Lean methodologies or Toyota Production System

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; works well in a team environment

  • Strong mechanical and technology aptitude

  • Experience leading diverse teams including members from global business departments and vendors

  • Some travel required
