Intralox, LLC has an opening for an Automation Specialist to work in the Manufacturing Engineering Group (MEG).  In this position, you will be responsible for troubleshooting production equipment designed by or procured by the Manufacturing Engineering Group for the Intralox Production environment. The successful candidate will be a highly talented and self-managed individual who gets a kick out of learning new technologies and solving technical problems.


  • Root cause analysis of equipment in Production
  • Solution development and implementation to improve equipment robustness
    • Design/build controls solutions for existing equipment
    • Design/build of mechanical upgrades on existing equipment
  • Equipment evaluation to approve transition in the Equipment Transition Process
  • Ownership of the Robotic Training Facility in MEG
  • Development of Robotic Training programs for Production
  • Participation in design reviews, run offs, and commissioning of new equipment
  • Assist in the On-Call support of equipment as required during equipment introduction stage
  • Support Project Engineers with receiving and commissioning of outsourced equipment
    • Including participation in Factory Acceptance Testing at vendor sites
  • Support Intralox Manufacturing with the troubleshooting of production equipment
  • Shop maintenance and cleanliness
  • Follow safe work practices


  • Trade School or Associates Degree
  • Ability to work unsupervised and work well within a team environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with electrical wiring and troubleshooting
  • Experience with development and troubleshooting of PLC programs
  • Ability to read and edit electrical and pneumatic schematics
  • Demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting electromechanical systems including relay logic, PLC, pneumatics, and linear actuators.
  • Ability to lift and assemble machine components, 50 pound maximum, and stand for extended periods of time
  • Work overtime as needed, and participate in on-call production support at times

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (areas of study: Industrial Technology, Electronics, Computers)
  • Spreadsheet and word processing knowledge
  • Experience with Data Acquisition Systems
  • Experience with 2D/3D CAD
  • Ability to operate machine tools, such as a drill press, bench grinder, band saw
  • Experience with programming and troubleshooting Industrial Robots.
